1970s Japanese Whale Mugs

Supposedly these are 1970's era Otagiri mugs; likely stoneware! Hard to find anything about them on the internet, but it doesn't matter because they're amazing. Sold as the pair!

They remind me of my favorite scene from the "Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy" movie where the whale and the flowers fall from the sky ☁️🐋☁️🪴☁️ so long and thanks for all the fish! 🎶
